Making sugar scrubs at home is an inexpensive and easy way to keep your skin silky smooth and soft. You don’t need to spend a lot of money in salons and spas. All you need are two ingredients – sugar and a good quality natural oil. You can make several variations of a sugar scrub. Ingredients
Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub
- 1/2 cup sugar (white or brown, preferably organic)
- 1/2 cup coconut oil (virgin)
- 1 tbsp honey (optional)
Olive Oil Sugar Scrub
- 1/2 cup sugar (white or brown, preferably organic)
- 1/2 cup olive oil (extra virgin)
- 400 IU vitamin E (optional)
Lemon Sugar Scrub
- 1/2 cup sugar (white or brown, preferably organic)
- 1/2 cup coconut oil (olive oil, almond oil, jojoba oil can also be used)
- 15 drops lemon essential oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (fresh, optional)
Instructions
Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub
- Take a clean, airtight glass container.
- Mix the sugar and the oil well and use as needed.
- If it is too dry, you can add additional oil or a tablespoon of thick honey. If it is too wet, add more sugar. Your home-made coconut oil sugar scrub is ready!
Olive Oil Sugar Scrub
- It's best to use extra-virgin olive oil to make a scrub for the skin as it is unrefined and has a low level of acidity in it.
- In a clean, airtight glass container, mix both ingredients well and use as needed.
- Add olive oil if you want to make it wet. Your home-made olive oil sugar scrub is ready. You can even add vitamin E oil by breaking a capsule into it to make it even healthier for your skin!
Lemon Sugar Scrub
- In a clean, airtight mason jar, mix the sugar and oil well.
- Add the essential oil or the lemon juice and mix till blended completely. Use a palmful twice a week for best results.
