Hot Bag Press
When the ears hurt badly, you can take a hot bag, fill it with warm water and then press your ears on it one by one. The pain will be relieved gradually.
Sesame and Garlic Therapy
Put half a clove of garlic in one teaspoon of sesame oil and warm it on medium flame. Now lie down on one side and put a few drops of oil inside the ears and leave it for at least 10 minutes. This will help reduce an earache.
Licorice
Licorice powder should be warmed with ghee and the paste obtained should be applied around the ear that is hurting. This is an assured remedy for your aching ears.
Banana Juice
This happens to be an excellent remedy for earaches! Make a small incision on the banana tree bark and take out some juice from it. Warm this juice and put it in your ears before going to bed. This will give you relief from an earache and help eradicate the problem.
Garlic
Take about 4-5 garlic cloves and heat them with linseed oil till the garlic burns.. This oil should be filtered and kept in a bottle. You need to put a few drops of the oil on the affected ear twice a day to get guaranteed relief from ear pain within a few days. In fact, this will prevent most ear problems to some extent. This remedy is very common in India, however, several ENT specialists do not recommend it.
Sweet Almond Oil
This is another helpful home remedy that provides prompt relief from an earache. Warm a spoon by dipping it into hot water and then fill it with some sweet almond oil. Now put a few drops of this oil inside your ears, making sure it goes deep inside your ear canal.
Onion Oil
The oil obtained from onions work wonders for severe ear pain. It works best when the oil is applied during the night time before going to sleep.
Herbal Tea
Herbal tea has a soothing effect on earaches. One such herbal tea is basil tea, which especially helps, release congestion, thereby preventing earache.
Diet Rich in Vitamin C
A diet rich in vitamin C can reduce ear problems remarkably. Including zinc-rich foods such as pumpkin seeds, cocoa powder, and spinach in your diet helps as well. Dairy products should be avoided as they tend to aggravate ear infection.
